Mongoose OS, a leading secure operating system for commercial connected devices, collaborates with Google Cloud, helps businesses unlock insights from global device networks.

Dublin, September 27, 2017 — Mongoose OS, a secure operating system for commercial connected devices, today announced support for the public beta of Google Cloud IoT Core, a fully managed service on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to securely connect and manage IoT devices at scale. Cloud IoT Core is now publicly available to all users in beta, including new features and pricing plan.

With Cloud IoT Core, businesses can easily connect and centrally manage millions of globally dispersed IoT devices. When used as part of the broader Google Cloud IoT solution, it can ingest all IoT data and connect to Google Cloud’s state of the art analytics services including Cloud Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Bigtable, BigQuery, and Machine Learning.

Mongoose OS with its focus on the low power connected microcontrollers (such as ESP32, ESP8266, TI CC3200, TI CC3220, STM32, etc.) reduces IoT firmware development time up to 90%, bringing enhanced security, Over-The-Air update and other features vital for the commercial connected products.

As part of the launch Mongoose OS ESP32 based IoT Starter Kit is now available. It provides a quick and easy way to start IoT development on microcontrollers. This IoT Starter Kit includes: Adafruit HUZZAH32 Board, Motion Sensor, Door Sensor, Temperature-Humidity Sensor, Light Sensor, Piezo Buzzer, Micro Servo, LEDs and easy to follow tutorials on how get it up and running with Google Cloud IoT Core in minutes.

Key features of the new Cloud IoT Core solution:

  • End-to-end security: Enable end-to-end security using certificate-based authentication and TLS; devices running Android Things or ones supporting the Cloud IoT Core security requirements can deliver full stack security.
  • Role-level data control: Apply IAM roles to devices to control access to devices and data.
  • Automatic device deployment: Use REST APIs to automatically manage the registration, deployment and operation of devices at scale.

“Mongoose OS is designed to simplify IoT firmware development for microcontrollers by helping developers to concentrate only the specific device logic while taking care of the security, networking, device control and remote management including over-the-air updates (OTA),” said Sergey Lyubka, CTO and Co-Founder at Cesanta. “By working with Google Cloud IoT Core, Mongoose OS streamlines connected product development and provides a ready-to-go integration.”

“With Mongoose OS broadly available to customers on IoT Core, customers can gain visibility into new operational data and optimize for change in real-time,” said Adam Massey, Director, Strategic Technology Partners, Google Cloud. “Together with Mongoose OS, we are striving to make it easier to connect, manage, and drive real business value from IOT devices.”
